New York, NY (November 10, 2008)—Lectorum Publications, the largest and oldest distributor of Spanish-language books in the United States, announces the grand opening of its new consumer web site, on Monday, November 17, 2008., the largest U.S. Spanish-language online bookstore exclusively in Spanish, will offer thousands of adult and children’s titles directly to the public, building upon Lectorum’s trusted reputation earned over nearly half a century of providing the best selection of quality Spanish-language and bilingual books through libraries, schools, universities and retailers.

In celebration of the launch and to kick-off the new site’s series of recurring author conversations, Lectorum is presenting its first Café Literario with best-selling authors Mirta Ojito, Esmeralda Santiago and Victor Villaseñor on November 19, 2008 at Scholastic’s global headquarters in New York City. The invitation-only event, moderated by Univision’s Antonio Martínez, will be recorded and available on on Monday, November 24. Showcasing conversations with talented authors from the U.S and around the world, Café Literario is just one of many features that will greet visitors as they browse the aisles of the online bookstore.
