New York, NY — September 10, 2012 — Scholastic (NASDAQ: SCHL), the global children’s publishing, education and media company, invites every teacher and every family to start the school year with free ebooks from Storia™, the new, teacher-recommended ebook and ereading system designed specifically for children from toddlers to teens. The app can be downloaded FREE to PC, iPad or Android tablets (with more platforms to come later this fall) to start a digital library for home or classroom use, and comes with FIVE FREE EBOOKS – including a special Clifford the Big Red Dog® ebook in honor of his Big Red 50th birthday this year. Teachers who download Storia for their classroom will receive an additional five free ebooks specifically selected for their students’ grade level.

In addition to receiving five free ebooks with download, families and teachers can enter the week-long “Storia Scratch and Win” sweepstakes to win iPads and ebooks. Participants can enter at Five Grand Prize winners will be selected each day from September 10th through the 14th to win an iPad.
