Scholastic To Publish Updated Edition of J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander

New York – January 5, 2017 – Scholastic Corporation (NASDAQ: SCHL), the global children’s publishing, education and media company, will publish an updated edition of the bestselling and collectible companion book to the Harry Potter books, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, with a new foreword by J.K. Rowling, writing as Newt Scamander, and a new cover by Headcase Design on March 14, 2017. The book will be published simultaneously with Bloomsbury UK and the Pottermore eBook edition.

Scholastic is pleased to announce the publication of a new edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in 2017. Publishing on March 14, 2017, the book will contain a new foreword from J.K. Rowling, a new cover design and original illustrations and doodles by J.K. Rowling throughout. Originally released in paperback by Scholastic in 2001, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by fictitious author Newt Scamander (a character from J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World), was published to benefit Comic Relief, a U.K.-based charity organization.
