Scholastic Completes Sale of Educational Technology and Services Business Segment

New York – May 29, 2015 – Scholastic Corporation (NASDAQ: SCHL), the global children’s publishing, education and media company, announced today it had completed the previously reported sale of its Educational Technology and Services business segment (“EdTech”) to Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Company (NASDAQ: HMHC), including the equity in International Center for Leadership in Education and Tom Snyder Productions, Inc., for $575 million in cash, subject to adjustment.

Scholastic Updates Fiscal 2012 Earnings Guidance

New York — April 30, 2012 — Scholastic Corporation (NASDAQ: SCHL), the global children’s publishing, education and media company, announced today that it was increasing its earnings guidance for the fiscal year ending May 31, 2012, based on stronger than anticipated sales of The Hunger Games trilogy following the March 23rd movie release.

Scholastic is extremely pleased that Judge Scheindlin decided to dismiss, at the earliest stage possible, the lawsuit brought against Scholastic by the estate of Adrian Jacobs. The Court's swift dismissal supports our position that the case was completely without merit and that comparing Willy the Wizard to the Harry Potter series was absurd.
