Scholastic Selected to Provide School Improvement Consulting Services at Indianapolis High School

Scholastic Achievement Partners to Serve as Lead Partner
to Leadership at Broad Ripple Magnet High School

NEW YORK, NY — August 29th, 2011 — Scholastic Achievement Partners (SAP), the services, consulting and school improvement unit of Scholastic Education, has been selected by the Indiana State Board of Education as a Lead Partner in its school improvement efforts in Indianapolis. The Scholastic team will partner with Broad Ripple Magnet High School to design and implement strategic and innovative programs to raise achievement in math and literacy and improve learning outcomes at the school.

"We are thrilled to have been chosen by the Indiana State Board of Education to work in the Indianapolis community, and we look forward to partnering alongside the Broad Ripple High School staff to help them build off their successes in improving student achievement," said Duncan Young, Senior Vice President of SAP, part of Scholastic, the global children's publishing, education and media company. "For more than a decade, Scholastic has worked with school districts to take literacy and math improvement to scale, to change the learning trajectories of low-achieving students, and to help district and state leaders improve schools. The commitment the state of Indiana is making today is a commitment to the next generation of America's leaders."

The SAP team of leadership consultants and instructional coaches, which includes educators with wide-ranging experience in the classroom and in leading district and state school systems, will work side-by-side with school leadership and instructors at Broad Ripple Magnet High School and with leaders in Indianapolis, the Indiana State Board of Education, and the Indiana Department of Education. The focus of Scholastic's work will be to understand best practices within Broad Ripple and to help them capitalize on those successes and take them to scale.

SAP, launched in 2010, provides advice, consultation and a full complement of services to help school district leaders tackle their toughest challenges in improving schools, developing the skills and expertise of teachers and leaders, and effectively implementing academic improvement initiatives. SAP is a joint endeavor of three best-in-class organizations focused on raising achievement for all students. Joining Scholastic is the International Center for Leadership in Education (ICLE), an educational services organization with a 20 year legacy of leadership development and school transformation, and Math Solutions, the nation's leading provider of professional development for math educators.
