Scholastic Corporation Announces First Quarter Dividend

New York – July 20, 2016 – Scholastic Corporation (NASDAQ: SCHL) is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors today declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.15 per share on the Company’s Class A and Common Stock for the first quarter of fiscal 2017.  The dividend is payable on September 15, 2016 to all shareholders of record as of the close of business on August 31, 2016.

Scholastic is pleased to announce the publication of a new edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in 2017. Publishing on March 14, 2017, the book will contain a new foreword from J.K. Rowling, a new cover design and original illustrations and doodles by J.K. Rowling throughout. Originally released in paperback by Scholastic in 2001, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by fictitious author Newt Scamander (a character from J.K.
