Scholastic Media and Post Foods Announce Winners of National "The 39 Clues" Race to Win Sweepstakes
NEW YORK — July 7, 2010 — Scholastic Media and Post Foods, LLC announced today the four Grand Prize-winning families of The 39 Clues™ “Race to Win” Sweepstakes based on The New York Times bestselling multi-media adventure series. The Hinegardner Family of Lima, OH, the Woodson Family of Toledo, OH, the Montoya Family of Tempe, AZ, and the Hoelscher Family of Meridian, ID, will make the trip to New York City for a four-day/three-night stay (including airfare and hotel from Funjet Vacations), and compete in a The 39 Clues Scavenger Hunt (designed by Watson Adventures) for a secret bonus prize presented by series authors Peter Lerangis, Jude Watson, and Gordon Korman at The Scholastic Store on July 16th. Earlier this year, Post featured the Sweepstakes on more than 4 million packages of Honeycomb, Alpha-Bits, Golden Crisp and Waffle Crisp cereals. Post worked with its promotion and creative agency, Eastwest Marketing Group, to conceive and execute the program.
Two hundred First Prize The 39 Clues Prize Packs (including a backpack and a signed set of The 39 Clues book series) will be awarded to additional winners across the country. Consumers entered the promotion by decoding evidence on the back of specially marked cereal boxes, and entering a code at Post39CluesRacetoWin.com. Post supported the promotion with exclusive The 39 Clues games, a free screensaver, and online chances to enter the sweepstakes.
"Our collaboration with Post took all the adrenaline and intrigue found in The 39 Clues series and brought it to life in an extremely engaging way," says Leslye Schaefer, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Consumer Products for Scholastic Media, a division of Scholastic Inc., the global children's publishing, education, and media company.
"The 39 Clues book series is the perfect fit for our kids' cereals, because reading great books brings fun and nourishment to young minds in the same way our cereals bring fun and nourishment to the breakfast table," adds Kelly Annis, Director of Consumer Promotions for Post. "We were thrilled with the response to the Sweepstakes, and look forward to hosting the winning families in New York City."
