Scholastic Inc., the global children’s publishing, education and media company, and the James Castle Collection and Archive, LP, an independent archive that owns and maintains the artwork, copyrights, and historical documents of artist James Castle, have mutually agreed to dismiss all pending litigation surrounding the book Silent Days, Silent Dreams by Allen Say. The two organizations have amicably resolved their differences surrounding the use of Castle’s work as it pertains to Say’s book and its illustrations.

Scholastic and the Castle Collection believe Castle’s legacy as expressed in his work, his remarkable personal story, and Say’s book, will serve as a source of inspiration for young artists and readers everywhere.
