Scher Foord Named Vice President, Creative, for Scholastic.com

New York, NY – May 4, 2016 – Scholastic (NASDAQ: SCHL), the global children’s publishing, education and media company, today announced the appointment of Scher Foord as Vice President, Creative, for Scholastic.com, the company’s online content and e-commerce channel which is the #1 website for U.S. elementary school teachers with more than one billion page views annually. The site serves all of Scholastic’s key customer groups: teachers, librarians, administrators, parents and children.
Ms. Foord brings to Scholastic more than 15 years of experience in digital media, including concept development, information architecture, user-centered design and digital marketing. In this new role, she will oversee the online customer experience strategy and design and will be responsible for creating an immersive e-commerce shopping experience and overall digital marketing strategy. Ms. Foord reports to Dani Nadel, Chief Digital Marketing Officer, Scholastic Clubs and Commerce.
Prior to joining Scholastic, Scher Foord served as the Executive Director, UX and Design at Condé Nast where she supported 16 digital brand footprints on web, mobile, email, apps and social media platforms. Ms. Foord also worked at Time Inc., as the Special Projects Director in the Style and Entertainment Group, where she defined and developed innovative audience and revenue opportunities for PEOPLE.com, InStyle.com, EW.com, PeopleEnEspanol.com and Essence.com.

Scher Foord earned a B.A. in Psychology and a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She was a 2014 Organizer for Women Who Code/#CN Talks, was named Min Web Designer of The Year in 2008, and serves as a Board Member for the Society of Publication Design.
