Scholastic to Publish DORA Books Starting in Fall 2025
DORA Books Will Launch with "DORA: The Magic Tree, Bilingual Storybook #1" in Fall 2025
New York, NY – June 18, 2024 – Scholastic, the global children’s publishing, education, and media company, announced it has acquired rights to publish DORA!
With all-new CG animation and imaginative character-driven storylines, the new Paramount+ DORA series follows everyone’s favorite bilingual explorer, Dora, and her best monkey friend, Boots, as they embark on epic adventures in a fantastical rainforest. Guided by trustworthy Map, Dora and her friends must work together to overcome many obstacles while being challenged by the sneakiest fox, Swiper. DORA is produced by Nickelodeon Animation and can be streamed on Paramount+ now.
“We’re so thrilled to expand our partnership with Scholastic and share a new series of DORA adventures with young readers,” said Lourdes Arocho, SVP, Licensing and Global Publishing, Paramount.
Kicking off the launch of books, Scholastic will start with a DORA 8x8 bilingual storybook and a Level 1 reader based on episodes of the show. They will also publish an introductory bilingual hardcover storybook featuring an original story and illustrations, starring Dora and her friends.
The books will be in various formats, including 8x8s, picture books, readers, board books, sticker storybooks, phonics, and novelty books. In addition, Scholastic has acquired blank journals and activity books (with add-ons) for the school market only.
“Dora is a beloved character that encapsulates friendship, adventure and family fun. We are so honored to be the publishing partner for this iconic brand, and we are truly excited to bring new stories to a new generation of readers,” says Debra Dorfman, VP & Publisher Global Licensing Brands & Media, Scholastic.
