New York — September 25, 2008 — Scholastic Corporation (NASDAQ: SCHL), the global children’s publishing, education and media company, today reported results for the fiscal 2009 first quarter ended August 31, 2008. Scholastic typically records minimal sales from its School Book Fairs and Book Clubs in the first quarter of the fiscal year, when most schools are not in session, resulting in a seasonal loss.

Scholastic Corporation Announces Second Quarter Dividend

New York, NY — September 24, 2008 — Scholastic Corporation (NASDAQ:SCHL) announced that its Board of Directors today declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.075 per share on the Company’s Class A and Common Stock for the second fiscal quarter of 2009. The dividend is payable on December 15, 2008 to shareholders of record as of the close of business on October 31, 2008.
